MARK Educational Health and Charitable Trust, Chennai, is a Recognized Study Centre of the Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) — a State University established by the Government of Tamil Nadu, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an “A+” Grade.
By official approval letter (F.No.45/SSSD/D/September 30, 2011), our institution was designated as a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) of TNOU. Under the aegis of MARK Community College, we offer Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes through Distance Education Mode, ensuring access to flexible and affordable higher education for learners from all backgrounds.

Academic Overview (2010–2019)
- Over the period from 2010 to 2019, a total of 983 students were admitted to Undergraduate and Diploma programmes through our Study Centre. Out of these, 953 students successfully completed their courses, and 937 students qualified with TNOU degrees. The programmes offered included Diploma, B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, and B.B.A. courses. The highest enrolment was in Diploma and B.B.A. programmes, reflecting strong interest in skill-based and management-oriented education.
- During the same period, 64 students were admitted to Postgraduate programmes such as M.A., M.Sc., M.B.A., and M.Com. Among them, 47 students completed their programmes and 41 qualified successfully, demonstrating consistent academic achievement and institutional support.
- These figures highlight the Study Centre’s dedication to academic quality, effective learner guidance, and successful programme completion across all disciplines.
- Academic and Student Support Activities
- All academic and administrative activities of the TNOU Study Centre are conducted by MARK Community College under the quality supervision of Tamil Nadu Open University.
Key functions and services include:
- Student Admission and Registration: Admission processes are conducted strictly as per TNOU regulations with full documentation and verification.
- Academic Counselling and Orientation: Regular orientation programmes help learners understand the course structure, study methods, and assessment processes.
- Counselling Classes: Contact classes are conducted by qualified faculty to ensure conceptual clarity and syllabus coverage.
- Practical and Laboratory Sessions: Practical classes are held for science and management courses to provide hands-on training and experiential learning.
- Assignment Distribution and Evaluation: Students receive assignments for each course, which are evaluated and recorded in coordination with TNOU’s guidelines.
- Internal Assessment and Examination Support: The Study Centre coordinates examination schedules, hall tickets, supervision, and answer script submission under university regulations.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuous academic tracking ensures student progress and timely support throughout the course duration.
- Preparatory and Foundational Programmes
- The Study Centre also conducts basic education programmes for students who do not possess the minimum entry qualifications for higher education
- PPS (Preparatory Programme for Secondary): Designed for students who have not passed Standard X, providing them a pathway to re-enter formal education.
- PPH (Preparatory Programme for Higher Secondary): Offered for students who have not completed Standard XII, enabling them to qualify for higher studies at the undergraduate level.
- These foundational programmes have gained wide recognition for their role in promoting literacy, inclusivity, and educational advancement among underprivileged learners.
Faculty and Infrastructure
In addition to degree programmes, the institution also conducted various Diploma and Certificate Courses designed to develop managerial, technical, and professional skills suited to contemporary industry demands.
Facilities include:

Achievements and Impact
- Between 2010 and 2019, over 1,000 learners have successfully benefited from our educational initiatives. The completion and qualification rates among undergraduate students stand at over 95%, demonstrating the efficiency of our academic systems.
- Graduates from our Study Centre have gone on to achieve success in government, private, and non-profit sectors, while others have pursued higher education in India and abroad. The PPS and PPH programmes, in particular, have become a symbol of opportunity for those who once discontinued their studies, helping many to rebuild their educational journey and career prospects.
- Our Study Centre continues to be a trusted hub for lifelong learning, promoting education as a tool for empowerment and social progress.
