Aims and Objectives
EDUCATION FOR ALL!
The MARK Educational Health and Charitable Trust is to consistently address evolving social needs by expanding and diversifying academic streams, offering job-specific skill training, and creating sustainable employment opportunities. The Trust aspires to provide world-class infrastructure to facilitate learning, foster research, and promote the practical application of knowledge for the betterment of individuals and society. Now our Mark Community College is identified as an “Authorized Learning Centre” of the above said universities in and around Arumbakkam, Choolaimedu, Aminjikarai, Vadapalani, Koyambedu and nearby areas.
We do collect the prescribed fees of the relevant university from the students by way of DD. However we, as a charitable institution, offer considerable concession in our fees.
The primary goal of MARK Community College is to democratize higher education by bridging the gap between academic institutions and the marginalized segments of society. The overarching aims are:
To Universalize Education: To operationalize the vision of “Education for All” by bringing structured degree and diploma programs directly to the doorsteps of the working class and socio-economically underprivileged youth.
To Promote Social Mobility: To empower grassroots workers—including auto-drivers, domestic helpers, street vendors, and laborers—by providing them with academic credentials that unlock better employment opportunities and social dignity.
To Foster Lifelong Learning: To eliminate age barriers in education, ensuring that individuals at any stage of life can fulfill their aspirations of achieving academic graduation.
To Eradicate Literacy Gaps in Families: To uplift first-generation learners so they can confidently guide the education of their children, thereby fostering intergenerational literacy.
Specific Operational Objectives
To systematically realize these institutional aims, the college focuses on the following measurable and actionable objectives:
Provide Flexible Learning Pathways: To offer weekend and evening academic sessions that allow students to pursue higher education without disrupting their daily employment or losing their livelihoods.
Protect Daily Livelihoods: To maintain a strict “Zero-Interruption” learning framework, delivering academic mentorship via flexible weekend schedules so students never lose a day’s wages to attend college.
Establish Robust University Affiliations: To maintain and expand strategic academic partnerships with trusted state and national bodies, including Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU), Alagappa University, and IGNOU/NIOS.
