“Dine and Divine” is MARK Trust’s unique community dining initiative that goes beyond serving a meal to nourishing the soul and strengthening social fabric. This monthly program is built on the principle that sharing food is a sacred act that fosters unity, dignity, and heartfelt conversation. We bring together a diverse group of participants—including college students from our distance education programs, senior citizens from the neighborhood, skilled trainees from our vocational courses, volunteers, and often children from our outreach programs. The event begins with a short, inclusive prayer or a moment of reflection, emphasizing gratitude and togetherness. Volunteers then serve a wholesome, nutritious, and delicious vegetarian meal, prepared with care in our own facilities or in collaboration with local kitchens. The seating is deliberately arranged to encourage interaction between generations and across social backgrounds, leading to enriching exchanges of life stories, experiences, and ideas. Often, these meals are accompanied by light cultural performances, group singing, or storytelling sessions. “Dine and Divine” also serves as an informal support network, where the elderly find companionship, students receive guidance, and community issues are discussed in a relaxed setting. This initiative powerfully combats loneliness and social isolation while promoting the values of empathy, service, and community responsibility. It is a tangible expression of our belief that every individual deserves respect, a seat at the table, and the simple, divine joy of a shared meal.
